Two-material black horn and bone knives for tobacconists

Deep black on one side, natural white on the other: the horn and bone folding knife catches the eye from the tobacconist's door. NKM, supplier to tobacco shops since 1982, has added it to its Laguiole Bougna line to give counters a graphic reference, halfway between wood and full horn.

Its selling points behind the counter

  • • Graphic contrast: the black-and-white pairing reads from two metres, even in a small display case.
  • • Waiting time: lottery, parcels or newspapers give customers time to look at the display.
  • • Last-minute gift: it helps out someone looking for an idea while picking up a paper.
  • • Two materials in one: a single reference sums up the natural range without extra shelf space.
  • • Middle price point: it sits between wooden handles and full horn.

Two-material model composition

  • • 12 cm handle combining black horn and bone
  • • 10.5 cm stainless steel blade
  • • Polished bolsters
  • • Joint and grain unique to each piece

Counter question

Is the black-and-white contrast identical on every piece?

No: horn and bone are natural, so the joint between the two shades and the grain vary slightly, giving each knife its own pattern.
